Glensheen Mansion celebrates fall with apple flights

Glensheen mansion offered apple flights to visitors this weekend for the first time.

Similar to beer flights, Honeycrisp, Red Delicious, Grannie Smith, and Gala apple flights are served.

There are also informational posters about the apples provided.

Visitors are able to purchase a flight of four different kinds of apples for a small fee at the end of their tour.

Chester Congdon had a love for apples. He even had his own apple orchard across from London Road.

Glensheen staff hope to make this a tradition.

“With this being the first time we’ve done this event, we didn’t know what to expect. But we were really excited to share Chester’s love of apples, and we’re happy to see that folks are embracing it, and I think that we’ll be able to build on this event next year,” said Jane Pederson, Glensheen Mansion marketing manager.

The last day to try the apple flights will Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
