Make-A-Wish Minnesota’s 2018 Walk for Wishes event was Sunday, and participants gathered at Bagley Nature Center in Duluth to help raise money for local children battling critical illnesses.
Those who chose to participate had the choice to enter in either the 5K run or the family-friendly walk.
Registration was $20 with all proceeds going toward the children’s wishes.
Participants were also encouraged to fundraise and donate money leading up to the event.
And not only was there the 5K run and family-friendly walk, but those in attendance were also able to enjoy music, games, activities, and food.
Some UMD athletes were even there to show their support.
“At UMD, in our athletic department, we stand for the three C’s, and that’s excellence in competition, in the classroom, and in the community, and so our student-athletes understand and know and care deeply to give back to a community that has given them so much,” said Karen Stromme, UMD’s senior associate athletic director.
Make-A-Wish Minnesota said there were over 100 people who showed up to participate.
