Former Holy Rosary School teacher up for ESPY award

DULUTH, MN — A nun who went viral for a video of her delivering a curveball before a Royals and White Sox baseball game is up for a big award.

Sister Mary Jo Sobieck, who was a student athlete at the College of Saint Scholastica and a teacher at the Old Holy Rosary School, now known as Stella Maris, is up for ‘Best Viral Moment’ in the ESPY awards.

She taught fifth grade, and oversaw religious studies for all Holy Rosary Middle school students, for about 10 years.
