SUPERIOR, WI- Aspiring hockey players from the Northland are getting the opportunity to learn from the pros this week.
The 4th annual Twins Ports Pro Development Camp is taking place in Superior.
Players go through drills similar to what pros do in NHL training and development camps.
Instructors of the camp include Brett Olson, Mike Sislo, Hunter Miska, and Andy Welinski.
Miska and Welinski have had quite the summer as both are preparing to join new teams. Both commented on their new squads on Tuesday.
“Obviously the opportunity, they don’t have too many goalies there. They’re pretty young still with the guy coming in the American League there. So I’ve got two years of experience and I think I can use that and hopefully be the guy in the American League there,” said Miska.
“It’s exciting, first time that I’ve really had the opportunity to be a free agent, you know explore other opportunities. Very thankful for the time I had in Anaheim and San Diego. It was time for me to explore at least and hopefully found a good fit in Philadelphia,” added Welinski.
The camp runs through Thursday.
