Around 400 rowers in Park Point for annual Duluth Regatta

DULUTH, MN — Around 400 rowers participated in the annual Duluth Regatta event on Saturday

Rowers from far and wide came to Park Point on Saturday for the annual Duluth Regatta rowing event.

The Duluth Rowing Club along with 8 other clubs raced a 2,000 meter straight course, and a 1,000 meter course for the masters. Around 400 rowers participated with teams coming from as far as Canada. The Duluth Rowing Club’s coach says it’s a great opportunity for new rowers to get comfortable with racing for the first time in familiar water.

“Well, I think it’s really nice for our rowers, especially our new rowers that just started this summer. They’re very familiar with this water. They row out here everyday, and it’s an easy event for them to start as their first race,” said Duluth Rowing Club coach, Bonnie Fuller-Kask.
