UPDATE: Carlton native wins fourth episode of Jeopardy!

UPDATE 8:45 PM — Sam Kavanaugh spoke with us today and says that this is his lifelong dream. As a dedicated learner, and educator this opportunity has been surreal. He thanks his community and teachers for bringing him to where he is today.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m. — A Carlton, Minnesota native has won his fourth episode of Jeopardy!

Sam Kavanaugh, now a teacher in Minneapolis, competed on Monday’s episode.

Kavanaugh entered the day with more than $75,000 after a three day winning streak.

After Monday, he ended with $113,800 after a four-day streak

2:16 p.m. — A Minneapolis teacher originally from Carlton, Minnesota will make his fourth appearance on Jeopardy! Monday.

Sam Kavanaugh, who graduated from Carlton High School in 2009, won three episodes last week, and so far has won a total of $75,601.

Kavanaugh graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 2013, and is the son of two Duluth school teachers.

Jeopardy! airs at 5 p.m. on CBS 3.
