DULUTH, MN — Officials with Essentia Health are warning the public that someone is impersonating the company, and is also conducting online interviews and sending fake offer letters.
According to Essentia, none of the individuals who reported the impersonations had applied for positions with Essentia Health before being contacted.
Company officials say the individuals were contacted with cold calls, and were encouraged to apply online using a non-Essentia Health website.
Those who reported the incidents told Essentia they went through online interviews, and were sent fake offer letters which included an Essentia Health logo.
At this time, authorities are investigating the impersonations.
Any applications submitted to Essentia Health are done on their site, and interviews are done in person, or by using Skype/Zoom.
In addition, Essentia says initial offers are always made over the phone before an offer confirmation letter is sent, and the letters include signatures.
Company officials say communication with anyone at Essentia is always from an Essentia Health e-mail account, which ends with @EssentiaHealth.org after the name.
Essentia officials say the scam only affects those who were contacted directly, and doesn’t affect anyone who has applied through the Essentia Health website.
