Eagan, MN- Day 1 of Vikings training camp for the veterans. Minnesota is coming off a disappointing 8-7-1 season.
And that’s partly because of the struggles of the offensive line.
GM Rick Spielman worked hard this offseason to address the position.
Adding the likes of Josh Kline at the guard spot through free agency. But they also addressed the offensive line through the draft selecting center Garrett Bradbury in the 1st round.
All these moves were done in order to protect the team’s quarterback Kirk Cousins, who was sacked 40 times just last season.
Head Coach Mike Zimmer says his staff made adjustments this off-season to help the offensive line succeed this upcoming year.
Zimmer- “I think some of the things we’re doing are way simpler for the offensive line. So I think that part is going to be pretty easy. There’s some things in our protection that are a little bit different. They have to learn but not just them, the running backs as well. But I think the things we’re doing we’ll be able to help those guys in protection.”
