Duluth native C.J. Ham gears up for 4th NFL season

Eagan, MN- It may be year four for Vikings Fullback and Duluth native C.J. Ham, but the veteran still has the mindset of an undrafted free agent.

“It’s a different feeling of comfortable. Obviously, I’m comfortable going out and working. But you always want to have that mindset and earn it. Nothing’s ever given to you. It’s not like I have a guaranteed contract, you got to go out there and earn it. And make sure you’re getting everything that you put into it,” said Ham.

Even with a new offensive coordinator, he still feels he fits the offense perfectly.

“It’s definitely a two-back system. We’re going to be physical, we’re going to run the ball. And really just go out there and do what we do,” added Ham.

As for goals this season, Ham keeps it simple.

“Whatever it is asked of me, as cliche as it is. Just to go out there and do it to the best of my abilities and not give them a reason to not play me,” said Ham

The vet may be an old face for some of the staff, but it’s the new faces that have Ham’s confidence at an all-time high.

“We have the right people in this organization on this team, and the coaches we added, the players we added. It’s only going to make us better,” added Ham.

C.J. and the rest of the Vikings open the preseason on August 9th in New Orleans.
