Nashwauk community comes together to support victims of hit and run crash

NASHWAUK, MN- The Nashwauk community came together Monday night to grieve and send hope for a local family.

Just last week Alexia Carroll was seriously injured in a hit and run crash that killed her 2-year-old nephew Logan Klennert.

Monday night family and friends joined together at Nashwauk- Keewatin high school to send their support to Alexia and her family.

The event was only for those who are apart of the high school and local community.

Nashwauk- Keewatin high school’s principal Ranae Seykora said that Alexia is described by her classmates as an excellent student and a happy soul.

“She has a big heart, she has a big smile, she is just a happy kid and we are all rooting for her so we hope she can pull through and get back to school soon,” Seykora added.

A heartfelt message was shared with Seykora from Alexia’s mom.

” I want people to learn from this. love your kids. Don’t waste time. Go to the lake. Go to the fair. Eat cotton candy and hug often,” Alexia’s mom stated.

A GoFundMe was created over the weekend for Logan and Alexia’s family to cover medical and funeral costs.

The initial goal was $10,000, that amount has been surpassed.

The new goal is $25,000 if you would like to donate to the cause you can do that here.
