Duluth, Minn. — It’s a new year and a new coach for the College of Saint Scholastica football team. The Saints enter the first year under the Mike Heffernan era looking to improve on last season’s 6-4 overall finish. With a fresh lineup of new coaches and a strong returning quarterback in Zach Edwards, the team is hungry for a lot more.
“The biggest thing is just setting the tone, what my expectations are. And my expectations are paying attention to detail. Making sure that we do everything that we possibly can to the best of our ability, and there’s two things we can control. That’s attitude and that’s effort. And that’s going to reflect on the field if we stick to our mission,” said Coach Heffernan.
“Coach Heff is definitely very detail oriented, and I think that kind of just comes out that way because he really cares about the small stuff, but I think the small stuff kind of turns into the big stuff, so I think that’s the biggest thing,” said senior quarterback Zach Edwards.
The Saints open up their season on Saturday, September 7th at home against Mayville State.
