Students clean up Superior’s coastline

DULUTH, MN — Students from both sides of the bridge helped clean up our coast-line Wednesday.

It was part of the Twin Ports watershed clean-up events during the month of September.

Students from Many Rivers Montessori School and Lake Superior Elementary lent a hand out on Rice’s Point in Duluth.

Organizers hope it will inspire others to keep our coastlines clean, too.

“Picking up garbage, picking up after their pets, all those things have a cumulative effect and they protect Lake Superior and the St. Louis River Estuary,” said Andrea Crouse, Water Resources Program Coordinator.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson and Superior Mayor Jim Paine also took part.
