DULUTH, MN– Downtown Duluth is looking a lot more festive!
The community Christmas tree arrived at the corner of Lake Avenue and Superior Street Tuesday morning.
The 60-foot tree was donated by Bill and Georgette Hardesty.
This tree has been a part of their family for more than 20 years.
The family said it’s difficult to part with such a special tree, but they’re glad it will bring joy to the community.
“Everybody will experience some joy this holiday season by coming to look at the tree and looking at the lights and just celebrate the time of year when there should be joy in the world,” said Bill Hardesty.
After decorating, Minnesota Power is set to flip the switch on the Christmas tree’s lights.
That happens right before the Christmas City of the North Parade, which will be held Nov. 22.
