DULUTH,MN– The Duluth School Board is now one step closer to choosing a new superintendent.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board hired BWP & Associates to help them through the superintendent search.
The new hire will replace Superintendent Bill Gronseth who announced he’s stepping down in June.
The board selected BWP & Associates because of their ability to find qualified candidates that appeal to what the board and the community need.
Jill Lofald, a Duluth School Board Member, says the firm’s motto also stuck out to the board.
“Their motto is, ‘Finding a leader for Their future’. With Their capitalized. And right away that struck a chord of support from the whole board. That they are kid-centered. And when you are looking for a search firm – or when you’re looking for whether it’s a teacher, principal or superintendent – you want that passion for kids,” Lofald said.
Hiring the firm is going to cost the district around $30,000.
The board hopes to have a superintendent chosen by July.
