Superior Mayor: stay off the roads during weekend snow storm

SUPERIOR, WI– Superior’s mayor is asking residents to stay off the roads this weekend as between 12 and 18 inches of snow is expected to blanket the Twin Ports.

Mayor Jim Paine told CBS 3 Duluth that they’ll have plow crews out throughout the entire storm, starting as early as Friday night.

He said their big goal will be to keep the main roads open, especially since it’s a weekend.

“… We’ll be on the highways, main streets, and we probably won’t even get to the side streets until the snow stops on Sunday,” Paine said. “So it might not even be until Monday morning that we clear the side streets. But the goal is to have something at least semi safe within a few blocks of everybody in the city.”

Paine advised residents to stock up on supplies Friday so they’re able to stay home Saturday and into Sunday morning.

According to CBS 3 meteorologists, the snow is forecasted to start Friday night and last into Sunday morning.
