WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY will be in effect Tuesday night through early afternoon Wednesday for East Central MN and Northwestern WI. Round two of snow will bring that zone 3-6" of snow. The rest of the region faces 1-3". Low temps overnight will run a wide range in MN: -2 inland to +10 by Lake Superior. For WI & MI, the range will run 10-15 above zero. The wind will be W 5-15 mph.
This second set of low pressure systems will keep a snow chance until 2 pm for much of our region. In general, snow totals will be 3-6" for the middle of our area with 1-3" on the northern and southern edges. Lake influence could push totals a bit higher in the Snow Belt of the South Shore. Please check the chart below. Wednesday high temps will be wide again in MN: 8 inland to 18 by the lake. WI and MI numbers will be 20-25. The wind will be NNE 5-15 mph.
Arctic high pressure will replace the departing low and clear us up and cool us down. Thursday morning low will be -10 with a high of a mere +2.
FRIDAY & THE WEEKEND TO HOST ROUND THREE OF SNOW:
A third batch of lows will make thing cloudy again by Friday. Friday gets an 80% chance for snow with a low of-7 but a high back to +20. Saturday gets a 70% chance for the snow to continue with low temp 15 and high temp 21. Snow totals for this round could again be in the 6" range. Sunday should be partly sunny with low -5 and high 7. This next cold snap may keep popping until Tuesday.
