Northern MN residence destroyed in Friday morning fire

ANGORA TOWNSHIP, MN -- A single-story residence is destroyed after an early morning fire in Angora Township, Minnesota.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, a deputy on patrol witnessed large amounts of smoke coming from the area of Highway 53 and East Anton Road around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

The deputy arrived at the residence to find it totally engulfed in flames, according to the report.

Officials determined the homeowners were out of state and the single-story dwelling was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The fire is currently under investigation by the St. Louis Co. Sheriff's Office.
