DULUTH,MN--Tomorrow is the big day mushers and their dogs will start the 300 mile Beargrease competition.

We caught up with one musher who is competing in Beargrease for the first time.

Liza Dietzen and her 13 pups spent the day checking in and getting ready for the race.

They've been training since September for Beargrease.

Dietzen says training requires lots of time and patience.

They attempted Beargrease before but due to unforseen circumstances they had to pull out of te race.

Dietzen says new races are a learning experience for her and the dogs.

She says, "These dogs have never done this race before so it's going to be new for all of us. We're going to learn together and that is the best experience you can have, is learning it together."

She trains the dogs to run the same distance they would run in the race.

She says that is the best training strategy for her dogs.

The Beargrease race starts in Duluth tomorrow, here's a breakdown of that schedule.

Tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. Billy's Bar in Duluth opens for breakfast as the Beargrease crew gets set up for 9 a.m.

When you can meet the mushers at Billy's and see the dogs up close.
