UMD’s Justin Richards earns second straight defensive forward award

Duluth, Minn. -- Junior forward Justin Richards was named NCHC defensive forward of the year. This is Richard's second straight season as the winner. Richards spent this past season as an assistant captain… while racking up stats for the books.

Richards ended the season with a career-high 14 goals, ranking second on the team, and 11 assists. He also tied for the NCAA lead in shorthanded goals with three which is the most by a Bulldog in eight years.

Since joining the Bulldog program in 2017-18, Richards has skated in all 120 games and has 66 points (26 goals and 40 assists) and a +40 plus-minus rating to show for it.
