Hayward: Celebrating the end of main street reconstruction

The city of Hayward celebrated the reopening of its main street today. The street has been under construction since March 9th and today the city held a ribbon-cutting to commemorate the new street. Hayward's main street has also broken into the top 25 for the main street America competition, and there is still time to vote to help them make the top ten. Tower: Fortune Bay plans for soft reopening

Fortune Bay is planning for a soft reopening of its casino. Under normal circumstances, the casino operates 24-7 but due to COVID-19 they have decided to scale back operations from 9 A.M. to 1 A.M. Some of the resort features will remain closed such as the pool area and Tamarack buffet. While the Boise Forte Band is recognized as a sovereign nation, their shutdown policies line up with the stay at home order issued by Governor Walz.

Cloquet: Area businesses get safety net from City

The Cloquet economic development fund is providing a safety net to area small businesses. The net comes in the form of $300,00 worth of small business loans. This is in addition to federal and state grants already available to area businesses. To qualify for the loan you must be a business located within the city limits of Cloquet and must demonstrate you already applied for federal and state grants.
