Target closes stores across state amid unrest in Minneapolis, Northland locations remain open

DULUTH, MN -- Despite being listed among the dozens of Targets across the state, stores in Duluth, Virginia and Grand Rapids remain open for business this weekend, a store manager confirmed early Saturday.

All thee Northland locations are open 8am-7pm.

In a statement, Target said "We are heartbroken by the death of George Floyd and the pain it is causing our community. At this time, we have made the decision to close a number of our stores until further notice."

The retail chain said its focus is on its "team members’ safety and helping our community heal."

Target said those stores would remain closed until further notice.
