4th of July weekend features warm temperatures, slight chance for showers

Dry conditions will remain throughout the overnight with mostly clear skies. There is a slight chance of showers in our far western counties in Minnesota overnight. Temperatures will be mild in the mid to low 60s and calm winds out of the south.


We'll start Saturday under mostly sunny skies, clouds will increase slightly into the afternoon hours. Temperatures are going to be hot once again..Highs will be in the upper 80s low 90s. Winds will be very light out of the south at 4-6 mph. A 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms will approach the region late in the evening and are possible for much of northern and western Minnesota. Lows overnight drop into the mid-60s.


As the shortwave moves across the region on Sunday, we will continue to see a 20% chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with highs in the upper 80s.


Warm weather continues to start the week, with highs back in the upper 80s. Monday brings a 40% chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms throughout the afternoon hours.


The heat, humidity and chances for spotty shower activity will hang around for much of the extended forecast. All week temperatures are expect to be above average in the mid to upper 80s.
