Arrest made following multiple vehicle hit-and-run in Duluth

DULUTH, MN-- Duluth Police have arrested a man following a multiple car hit-and-run collision.

According to the Duluth Police Department, they responded to a call just before 9 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 1st Ave W. and 4th St. in Downtown Duluth.

Police said their preliminary investigation revealed that there was a hit-and-run at 2nd Ave E. and 3rd St.

The suspect vehicle was followed by a witness.

Police said the suspect vehicle collided with more than one vehicle and came to a stop. The driver fled on foot.

A passenger in the vehicle then drove the car and collided with additional vehicles on the Avenue.

The 21-year-old passenger who took over driving was located and arrested by police.

He was lodged at the jail for driving while impaired and hit-and-run.

The initial driver has not been located at this time.
