DULUTH, MN -- Duluth Studio Market will hold its grand opening on Friday, but held a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon.
The business was presented with a plaque from the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce.
The gift store will sell an array of handcrafted items including art, apparel, and decor.
After signing a lease for the store in January, store owner Stacey Lacoursiere planned on opening in May. Shutdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic pushed back the opening.
Lacoursiere says it's exciting to finally be able to open and celebrate the months of hard work compiling products for the store.
"Each item is unique it's hand-selected, and there's just something good about looking at an item and knowing that it was carved out of soapstone in Kenya or put together in the Phillipines," Lacoursiere said.
Lacoursiere also owns a digital media company which will operate from the back of the Market.
The store will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays. More information about the store can be found on their Facebook page.
