TODAY: High pressure will drift down to our south, but it'll be another spectacular Summer day. We'll see sunny skies once again with a breezy W to SW wind at 8-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Highs range from around 80 north to the mid to possibly upper 80s south.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear once again as the high centers itself near Chicago and Madison. Winds trend light and variable to calm, so patchy fog could develop overnight. Lows drop back into the 50s to near 60, but some upper 40s are possible north.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds increase throughout the morning as a warm front approaches. Skies become partly cloudy to partly sunny with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms as an upper-level wave passes through. Winds trend S at 5-15 mph, but will become more SE into the afternoon. Highs top out in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Lows fall back into the 50s and 60s with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

THURSDAY: We'll see a mix of clouds and sunshine and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms as yet another upper-level wave approaches. The passage of the warm front will allow dewpoints to climb back into the 60s. Winds trend SE at 5-15 mph. Highs top out in the upper 70s to mid 80s with lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.

FRIDAY: The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases as a low pressure tracks towards the area. There are some ingredients in place that could support a few strong to severe storms, but that's something we'll watch closely. Winds trend S at 5-15 mph. It'll be humid with highs in the 70s to low 80s with dewpoints in the 60s. Lows fall back into the upper 50s to mid 60s with showers and thunderstorms continuing.

WEEKEND: Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue Saturday as a cold front passes through. The front will bring in cooler and drier air heading into Sunday with a partly cloudy sky and a 20% chance of a few showers. Winds trend S at 5-10 mph Saturday, but will become NW at 5-15 mph Sunday. Highs are in the 70s to low 80s Saturday, cooling into the low to mid 70s Sunday.

EARLY NEXT WEEK: The slightly below average temperatures continue into early next week. We'll see partly cloudy skies and a weak upper-level wave could bring an isolated shower or two. Highs are in the upper 60s to mid 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
