Duluth: Day to donate old winter clothes

We're starting off right here in Duluth where area businesses are teaming up to keep children warm this winter. The 2nd annual Winter Clothing Drive is next Thursday! Businesses will be accepting hats, gloves, jackets, and mittens to be donated. If you have something you'd like to donate you can do so at one of three locations. Bonnie Jacobson Farmer’s Insurance Agency, Ogston’s Body & Paint, or DLH Clothing. Those who donate get a free ice cream treat!

Virginia: Rock Ridge School Board debates next steps

Now to Virginia where the newly formed Rock Ridge School Board is debating their options as they move towards the consolidation of Virginia and Eveleth public schools The board is looking at options to complete construction of their new buildings ahead of schedule but that is drawing scrutiny from parents who say high school students should be able to complete their education in their current buildings. The school board has taken five options off the table that would have forced high school students to relocate by next year. The board meets again on October 26th.

Ashland: Charges pending for vandal suspects

And now an update to a story we brought you last week. Suspects arrested in connection to vandalism spree are now in the hands of the Ashland County district attorney D.A. David Meany says charges are pending against the juvenile suspect involved. No specifics have been given on what those charges will be. The two suspects were arrested after allegedly shooting out several windows with a BB gun.
