WEATHER STORY: A departing low kept Monday's sky cloudy but those clouds will break overnight and lead to a cool down into the single digits for some towns by Tuesday morning. Tuesday will be fairly sunny and cool but warmer conditions come to call Wednesday.

MONDAY NIGHT: The sky will clear towards partly cloudy as higher air pressure takes over for a long spell. Low temps will run 5-15 above zero. (At least they are still above zero for now!) The wind will be W 5-10 but there is a Gale Warning on Lake Superior overnight because Tuesday's wind is expected to pick up greatly.

TUESDAY: The sky will become partly cloudy from a high that should prove to be persistent. High temp will be near 30. The wind will be SW 10-20 mph so the Gale Warning for Lake Superior will likely stay in effect most of the day.

WEDNESDAY: The high will waver just a bit in its dominance on Wednesday and the clouds will thicken towards the partly sunny side. Morning low will be 25 and the high will rise up to 40. The normal is 47 but the way the temps have been trending cool lately, let's call this "mild". The wind will be W 10-20 mph.

COMING UP: The high asserts itself in a sunnier way again by Thursday and could keep us sunny, dry and fairly mild the rest of the week. Meteorologist Dave Anderson will show you that week in more detail on the CBS 3 evening news. CBS 3 this morning from 5-7 am will feature updates from Meteorologist Kaitlyn Moffett.
