WISCONSIN-- Hunters in Wisconsin are getting ready for tomorrow's deer opener.
We talked with a Wisconsin DNR official to see what hunters should do to prepare this season.
Marc Kanyon said they want hunters to donate their deer heads so they can be sampled for CWD.
He says it's completely voluntary, but it's an important step to ensuring there will be deer to hunt in the future.
"It's important to get as many deer heads, and sample as many deer heads as we can for the chronic wasting disease. The more samples we can collect, the more we can understand how the disease is currently on the landscape, and how it moves across the landscape," said Wildlife Biologist Marc Kanyon.
Kanyon said hunting is one of the best social distancing activities you can do, so he expects this weekend to be a good one.
The season runs from November 21-29.
