Friday night fire damages Hibbing apartment

HIBBING, MN-- Multiple Fire Departments were dispatched to an apartment fire in Hibbing last night.

According to Friends of the Northland FireWire, the fire broke out at one of the buildings at the Greenhaven apartments around 9:15 p.m. on Friday.

The blaze was called in as a grease fire on a stove but quickly spread to the kitchen and living room of the apartment.

Hibbing fire officials say the apartment is severely damaged.

The fire also impacted other residents in the fourplex as electricity and gas to the buildings had to be shut off.

No injuries were reported.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
