St. Luke’s president, CEO steps down

DULUTH, MN -- St. Luke's Hospital's president and CEO has stepped down from his role, according to a letter to hospital staff Wednesday obtained by CBS 3.

According to the letter, Kevin Nokels' resignation is effective Wednesday.

There was no immediate word why he left the hospital. St. Luke's spokespeople told KBJR 6/CBS 3 they are planning to share more details about Nokels' resignation Wednesday afternoon.

The Board of Directos thanked Nokels, who served in the role since August 2019.

St. Luke's Chief Financial Officer Eric Lohn and Chief Medical Officer Nick Van Deelen will share the role of co-president and CEO through mid-2021.
