SUPERIOR, WI -- The University of Wisconsin-Superior is welcoming new law enforcement officers to the school's campus.
On Monday, six new officers took part in the ceremony. It's a requirement that all officers take an oath and swear-in to their position.
Judge Kelly Thimm conducted the ceremony which took place at Yellowjacket Union.
Officials said this is the most sworn-in officers UW-Superior has had in more than a decade.
"They are a diverse bunch. Like I have said we have had officers who have had jobs at other departments, we have national guardsmen who were in the air force as military police. They each are obviously different human beings and I think that they bring collectively a lot of enthusiasm and experience that it's nice to have," said Joseph Eickman, Director of Public Safety.
Along with the new officers, Eickman was also sworn in as the new chief of the department.
