Duluth’s ‘Motorhead Madness’ ends run after 50 years

DULUTH, MN -- After more than 50 years, Duluth's annual Motorhead Madness classic car show has come to an end.

Organizer Jack DeJoy announced Thursday that he and his staff made the difficult decision not to hold the event any longer.

DeJoy cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of both his wife Joyce and friend, David Swanson. He said both people were a major part of the show.

"We would like to thank you for all the years of memories, fun, and support of Motorhead Madness! The car owners, club support, commercial vendors, sponsors, and attendees have meant so much to all of us over the years," DeJoy wrote.

The event is typically held at the DECC in March.

The 52nd annual event was canceled due to COVID-19.
