Very cold wind chills will be in place this morning with double digits below zero. A wind chill advisory for Northern St. Louis, Cook, and Lake county will expire at 9 am. High pressure will move in to bring mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Morning lows will be below zero for everyone. Highs will only manage single digits. Winds will be out of the west at 5-10mph.
Clouds will increase into the evening and overnight to become mostly cloudy. Lows overnight drop in the single digits above and below zero.
A low pressure system will move to our South on Saturday bringing in cloud cover to start the day. By the evening, light snow showers will move into the region, but the bulk of the system will remain south. Snow totals remain light about a T-1" for our far northwestern counties, 1-3" for most of the region, and higher totals further south. Highs for the afternoon will be in the upper teens with a light south wind.
Lingering snow showers continue into Sunday morning and will diminish by late morning. Highs will be in the upper teens low 20s under mostly cloudy skies. Lows overnight drop into the single digits.
