SUPERIOR, WI -- A rapid COVID-19 test site in Superior has closed permanently.
The location, which operated at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, ran its last tests on Friday.
The site was originally expected to close in late December, but that was extended by several weeks.
UW spokespeople say they usually base the decision to close testing sites based on staffing and available tests.
The UW system announced Monday some of its other rapid test sites across the state will keep operating through the spring.
