HIBBING, MN -- Minnesota State Representative Julie Sandstede held a virtual town hall Saturday morning.

She shared the projects she has been working on this legislative session.

Sandstede, House District 6A, represents Hibbing.

The town hall was hosted through Facebook Live.

She discussed the different committees she is on and answered questions from the community.

The conversation focused largely on the governor's peacetime emergency powers.

Sandstede wants to review regulation and make the extent of the governor's power more clear moving forward.

She said, with the right practices, COVID-19 restrictions could be loosened come the spring.

"I think we're going to see things open up significantly," Sandstede said. "I asked the governor personally with the goal of May 1st if we could be wide open. He didn't commit to it, but he thought it was a good possibility."

Sandstede also shared her work on education grants and her opinion on recreational marijuana.

She urged her constituents to let her know what issues matter most to them.
