UWS softball grabs six seed in NCAA tournament

Superior, Wisc. -- After a thrilling run in the UMAC tournament, The UW-Superior softball team is one of 48 teams remaining in the entire country. They are now on to the division three NCAA tournament.

They held a selection show party on campus on Monday morning. The Yellowjackets waited until the very last spot in the bracket to find out it's opponent.

The UMAC champion jackets are headed to Waverly Iowa for regionals as the six seed. They will open up against the number one seed, St. Olaf. The Ollies are the 19th ranked team in the country, but UWS has embraced the underdog mentality. The team says they're going into the big dance, playing with house money.

They get going against St. Olaf on Friday at 10:00am.
