EYE ON MINING -- A major mining company is offering a big incentive program to its employees in hopes of increasing vaccination rates.
According to a letter obtained by CBS 3, Cleveland-Cliffs said it will be offering an incentive program for employees who get vaccinated. This is in agreement with union representatives.
The company said they hope the program will help protect employees and their families from the coronavirus.
Here's what they're offering:
- If less than 75 percent of a facility is vaccinated, employees who can prove they got the shot will receive $200.
- If 75 to 84 percent of a facility is vaccinated the dollar amount goes up to $1,500.
- If 85 percent or more of a facility is vaccinated each vaccinated employee will receive $3,000.
The program kicked off July 1st and ends August 21st.
