Duluth Police: no foul play after body found near Lakewalk

3:45 P.M. UPDATE -- Duluth Police say they don't suspect foul play after a body was found near the Lakewalk Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the area near Leif Erikson Park around 9:57 a.m.

A North Shore Scenic Railroad employee found the body, who police say was a 50-year-old man.

His name won't be released until his family is notified.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing and they have not identified a cause of death.

DULUTH, MN — The public is being asked to stay away from the Lakewalk near the Rose Garden as Duluth Police investigate a dead body found there.

Crews are on scene as of 10:50 a.m. at Leif Erikson Park.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death or what led up to the body being found.
