St. Louis County lifts logging restrictions amid ‘favorable weather conditions’

ST. LOUIS CO.– With the weather in our favor lately, St. Louis County leaders have decided to lift the logging restrictions originally put in place Monday.

That means, starting Friday, cutting and logging operations on county-managed lands in the northern part of the county will be allowed once again.

The St. Louis County Land & Minerals Department has been consulting with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the United States Forest Service (USFS) in making this decision.

However, they still recommend people have a fire extinguisher, water tank, and pump, or backpack pump ready in case of an emergency.

Current fire danger and burning restrictions can be found on the DNR website.
