DULUTH, MN — 24 teams will be competing in this year’s Lake Superior Lawmen Hockey Tournament, which is now underway in Duluth and Superior.
Now in its 13th year, the tournament will be held at the Heritage Hockey Center and the Superior Amateur Hockey Arena Friday and Saturday, with teams made of current and former police officers, military members, firefighters and other public safety personnel.
The games, which will be set up in a three division tournament, will begin at 10 a.m. each day.
The tournament helps support its charitable partner, the Northern Lights Foundation.
Any donations made will directly benefit the children of needy families who suffer a life threatening illness.
Over the past decade, the Northern Lights foundation has granted over $300,000 to more than 150 Northland families.
