Preliminary hearing set for man accused of killing Chippewa Falls Girl Scouts

Chippewa County (WQOW) – Colten Treu, the man accused of killing three Girl Scouts and a mother in a tragic roadside crash in November, was back in court Wednesday.

Treu appeared via video conference in Chippewa County for a review hearing. Treu’s attorneys asked Judge James Isaacson to delay his preliminary hearing until April, so both the prosecution and defense could review Treu’s toxicology results, which are not in yet.

Treu is facing four counts of homicide by intoxicated driving, along with four counts of hit-and-run causing death, among other charges.

His preliminary hearing has been set for April 12.
