DULUTH, MN — Duluth Police are currently asking for an arrest warrant from the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office after identifying a suspect in a robbery and assault Wednesday.
According to police, two people were injured around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, when someone allegedly broke into their home on the 600 block of Atlantic Avenue in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries. They were released the same day.
Officials say they will release the suspect’s name once the warrant is signed.
CBS 3 Duluth heard from several residents in the robbery area Thursday morning who did not wish to be identified. One man, who operates a day care in the area, said he was concerned.
Pam Kleinschmidt, organizer of the Lincoln Park Citizen Patrol meetings, told CBS 3 Duluth that she feels a great sense of safety in Lincoln Park, adding that she believes “our reputation is worse than our reality.”
Kleinschmidt said the Citizen Patrol group has a strong relationship with the Duluth Police Department. She cited that the two organizations’ proactive patrolling and their ability to work together helps resolve any concerns within the community.
