Cloquet man pleads guilty to abusing infant

CARLTON COUNTY, MN–A Cloquet man accused of abusing his 3-month old infant has pleaded guilty.

Orion Verbist, 25, entered the plea as part of a plea agreement in Carlton County court.

Verbist was charged with first-degree assault in December 2018 after the infant was taken to the hospital for a skull fracture, fractured arm, and fractured rib.

According to Carlton County prosecutors, the plea agreement didn’t include a sentencing length.

Verbist will be sentenced on May 31.
