Heroin bust suspect transferred to Illinois for murder charge

DULUTH, MN — One of the two suspects in a historic heroin bust has been transferred to Cook County in Illinois for a first degree murder charge out of Chicago.

At the end of May, authorities seized about $350,000 worth of heroin, and arrested Eric Black, as well as Otis Weaver.

Authorities say Black has been transferred to Illinois.

Meanwhile, Weaver’s hearing has been forwarded to the end of July.

The two month investigation ended with the largest bust of its kind in the Duluth Police Department’s history.
