ASHLAND, WI — A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for anyone who has information that helps solve a case regarding the theft of 30 firearms from Bay Area Pawn in Ashland, Wisconsin.
The reward, which is being offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), was announced Thursday. The burglary happened nearly a year ago on July 30th, 2018.
Authorities say a masked person broke through the window in the early morning hours. They opened a gun display case and took more than 30 firearms into a bag.
According to the ATF, about a dozen of the stolen firearms were found in Minneapolis in late 2018, however they need the public’s help in finding the rest, along with the person who stole the guns.
The ATF says their reward will be up to $5,000, with officials from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) saying they will match the ATF’s reward, making the total $10,000.
Anyone with information can call 1-800-ATF-GUNS, or by e-mail at ATFTips@atf.gov.
