SUPERIOR, WI — Charges have been dropped against a man who allegedly assaulted two Superior City Councilors in 2018.

Police arrested Jeremy Browen after he allegedly punched and pushed City Councilor Craig Sutherland through a railing, and punched then City Council President Keith Kern in the face at Jimmy’s Saloon.

Browen pleaded not guilty to battery and disorderly conduct charges last year; however, the state motioned to dismiss the case in August.

According to court documents, bystanders told police Browen made comments about unions, and badgered Sutherland and the owner of the bar about people who work in non-union jobs.

Sutherland and Kern allegedly tried calming the men down and encouraged them to leave when the fight broke out.
