SLIDESHOW: Crews to begin assessing damage Thursday, sidewalk washes out behind DECC

Thursday, crews will begin cleaning and assessing the damage from Wednesday’s heavy winds and rain.

They will be out in the Canal Park, Lakewalk, and Brighton Beach areas. Spots along the North and South shores sustained damage as well.

Photos show some of the sidewalk behind the DECC washed out after big waves pushed water up on to the road for much of the day..

City of Duluth officials are asking the public to allow crews the space they need to “work efficiently and reopen the public areas.”
