The public comment period on federal mineral leases for Twin Metals Minnesota has been extended through January 30, 2019, according to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
The deadline was extended after issues surfaced with the bureau’s website on Tuesday, the final day of the public comment period.
The comment period began when the BLM released an Environmental Assessment on December 20, 2018 that analyzes the potential effects of renewing those hardrock mineral leases for Twin Metals in the Superior National Forest.
There are a number of ways for the public to weigh in.
