HIBBING, MN – The Hibbing Police Department has a new chief.
The City Council voted 5-2 Wednesday night to approve the hiring of Steve Estey.
Estey is currently a detective with Virginia Police.
He replaces outgoing Chief Maryann Hooper. She spent more than three decades in law enforcement. Six of those were as chief.
Estey takes over February 25.
