Man arrested after allegedly threatening Ashland police

ASHLAND, WI — A Glidden, Wisconsin man is in custody after allegedly threatening police in Ashland.

Police say officers were initially called to an area near the intersection of Sixth Street West and Ninth Avenue for a verbal domestic shortly before 7 a.m. on Sunday.

During the incident, dispatch said the man was out of the house and had allegedly threatened “cops are going to die” if the woman called 911.

Police say the man had a gun at the time of the call.

Following a search, officers found the 47-year-old when he was returning near the caller’s home.

Formal charges are pending.
